Symphonic Band
The NAU Symphonic Band (MUP 353, Section 1) performs a variety of literature specializing in historically significant works for band, as well as transcriptions that are considered to be the core repertoire of the wind medium.
This band is conducted primarily by Mr. Elliott Tackitt, Associate Director of Bands, interim. The Symphonic Band provides essential knowledge for music performance majors and music education majors. Students from all colleges at NAU are encouraged to join.
Membership in the NAU Symphonic Band requires an audition, which takes place prior to the beginning of each semester. Please note that these will be blind auditions (behind a screen).
- The Symphonic Band meets on Wednesdays from 7:00pm - 9:00pm in room 146 at Performing & Fine Arts (building 37a).
- The Symphonic Band also presents several concerts each season.
